The partnership

Why Emirates is investing in medical tourism and longevity travel

Emirates and the Medical Tourism Association launched their partnership in Dubai on 17 September 2026 to make medical tourism, wellness and longevity travel easier, more trusted and more accessible. For Emirates, it opens a new customer segment built around patients, referring physicians, insurers and employers.

Emirates and the MTA are identifying key medical travel markets and corridors, particularly across Africa, Asia and the Middle East, and developing travel solutions around the needs of patients and the physicians, insurers and employers who refer them.

Better is central to the partnership. Through Better, travelers can find accredited providers, coordinate treatment and travel, and make secure cross-border payments powered by Mastercard, so they can pursue medical tourism and longevity care with peace of mind.

“Healthcare is among the most important reasons people travel internationally and is growing significantly.”

The Emirates offer for your patients

Which of our patients are eligible?

Patients with a confirmed booking for a medical or healthcare service through the Better platform. One accompanying traveler can also benefit when traveling on the same itinerary as the patient.

How do patients qualify?

The treatment must be confirmed through Better before the patient books their Emirates flight. Proof of the confirmed booking may be requested during booking, check-in or travel. If it cannot be provided, the offer benefits may be removed and the ticket may be reissued at the fare available at the time of travel.

What discount do patients receive?

Eligible travelers can receive:

  • Up to 5% off Economy Class Flex and Flex Plus fares
  • 7% off Premium Economy, Business Class and First Class fares

Discounts apply to the base fare only and exclude taxes, fees and carrier-imposed charges. The offer is available on selected fare categories.

How do the flexible Emirates fares work?

The fares include complimentary date changes and cancellations, which gives patients room to adjust travel when treatment dates or recovery schedules change. Additional charges may apply if a traveler does not cancel or change the booking before departure and does not travel as booked, commonly called a no-show.

Do patients need medical clearance to fly?

Depending on their medical condition, patients may need clearance to travel. Please ask them to review the Emirates requirements and complete a Medical Information Form (MEDIF), and to check the guidance on traveling with medicines and medical equipment.

Are there any other conditions?

Yes. The offer cannot be applied to tickets already purchased, cannot be combined with other promotions, discounts or corporate fares unless stated otherwise, and is non-transferable with no cash alternative. Fares are subject to availability and may change without notice. The standard Emirates baggage allowance, Conditions of Carriage and fare conditions apply to every booking.
